Jan/Feb 2012 News & Notes
Traveled to Florida for January and part of February to create new work. Anxious to get to work in my studio to sort through the results with a large monitor. Hey, my eyes are not what they used to be.
I am delighted to report that I have agreed to donate a piece to the Dayton Visual Arts Center (DVAC) Annual Art Auction fundraising event to be held April 27th. A worthwhile event, fun evening, and a wonderful crowd. I also happily accepted an invitation to donate a piece to the annual fundraiser to benefit the Zanesville Museum of Art called "Art in the Garden - Art in Bloom XXX" on June 23rd. Another superb event that supports this vibrant museum.
Working finishing touches for "Lux Botanica." I will be hanging the show in late February at the Cleveland Botanical Garden's Guren Gallery for a March 2 - April 15 exhibit.

Hope to have something up by March 2012. Meanwhile, if you are traveling near Cincinnati you can visit the Malton Gallery at 3804 Edwards Road to view my work. In Naples, Florida visit The Garden District at 137 10th St. North.

Using natural elements, photographer conjures up frightful, intriguing images
"I am the one hiding under your bed, teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red."
So says a line in Danny Elfman's spooky song "This Is Halloween." It would appear that even some adults believe monsters are hiding in the dark recesses of their bedroom. Just ask photographer Doug McLarty, who says he got some unusual remarks during his exhibit opening earlier this month.

At Home Magazine to feature Signature Focus Art
At Home Magazine - Highlighting "sophisticated living in Southwest Ohio", will have an article on Signature Focus in the August
issue. While it was fun stuff to have my photo taken, the experience only confirmed that I still like being behind the camera rather than in front of it.
